KPT health insurance reimburses the Ocumeda eye check-up
Ocumeda and the Swiss health insurer KPT have entered into a new partnership to further improve access to preventive eye care. The Ocumeda eye check-up is now part of the KPT benefits list in the „Early detection and diagnostics“ section of the Pulse supplementary insurance.
The Ocumeda eye check-up can currently be carried out at around 50 opticians in Switzerland. KPT policyholders with Pulse Top or Pulse Premium supplementary insurance can submit the invoice to their insurer and receive up to 75 % of the costs reimbursed in accordance with the usual insurance conditions.
Based in Bern, KPT is one of the ten largest health insurers in Switzerland with around 500,000 insured persons. The company stands for modern and reliable insurance services and, with innovations such as the digital insurance card and Doctorchat, has provided important impetus for digitalization in the healthcare sector at an early stage.

The Ocumeda eye check-up is based on a hybrid care approach: specially trained specialists carry out measurements at more than 50 Swiss opticians using state-of-the-art equipment. A network of Swiss ophthalmologists then evaluates the data digitally and provides the patient with a report of findings with clear recommendations for action. In the event of any abnormalities, Ocumeda provides active support in finding an appointment for further ophthalmological clarification.
The partnership between Ocumeda and KPT is intended to further facilitate access to preventive eye care and provide new impetus for prevention.
