Puglia\/Getty Images for Mido)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The fair is preparing for an edition with great expectations, with a forecast of around 1,200 exhibitors from 50 countries, the same as last year's edition, including major returnees and 140 newcomers, confirming the dynamism of the sector.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The areas of the trade fair: Confirmations, expansions and innovations<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The \u00abFashion Square\u00bb, the vibrant heart of Hall 1, will be completely renovated. In Hall 4, the square will be enlivened by an installation dedicated to DaTE (Naples, September 12-14), while the square in Hall 6 will host the new edition of The Lens of Time exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>The iconic \u00abDesign\u00bb area returns to Halls 2 and 4 and confirms itself as a center for experimentation and creativity: more and more exhibitors and new participants will be added here, including some brands that are leaving the \u00abAcademy\u00bb to gain a foothold in this area.<\/p>\n<p>The \u00abAcademy\u00bb, confirmed in Hall 6, reaffirms its mission as an accelerator for young brands. It will host over 90 companies. Around 20 new companies will participate in the start-up section, ready to present projects and solutions in the name of innovation.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The exhibition \u201eThe Lens of Time\u201d in Hall 6<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>After its stop in Venice, the exhibition on the history of eyewear conceived by ANFAO comes to MIDO with a new layout designed for the fair's international audience. The exhibition traces the evolution of eyewear from its origins to the present day, highlighting its cultural, artisanal and stylistic value. After MIDO, the exhibition will continue in Rome in the fall of 2026 at Palazzo Piacentini, the headquarters of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, with the aim of taking it abroad in the future.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The \u00abVision Stage\u00bb: between training and current topics<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>MIDO's program of meetings, in-depth studies and workshops includes around 20 appointments with journalists, actors, athletes, sustainability experts, market analysts and representatives from the medical and optical sectors. Key topics to be discussed include social responsibility, market trends, buying behavior and the outlook for the US market. The full calendar will be posted online in January.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>MIDO Awards<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The application period for the awards with which MIDO recognizes the industry and its outstanding achievements is still open. Opticians, retailers and manufacturers with a special vision can apply for three awards: the Best Store Award (application deadline until December 31), dedicated to the best optical centers in the world and divided into the categories of design and innovation; the CSE Award - Certified Sustainable Eyewear, aimed at manufacturers committed to sustainable practices, from the use of recycled materials to the reduction of consumption; and the new CSE Corporate Award, which recognizes not a single product but the most exemplary exhibiting company in the ESG sector. Applications for the two CSE Awards are open until December 14, 2025. All information and forms for submitting your application can be found in the \u201eAwards\u201c section on mido.com. The awards ceremony will take place during MIDO 2026.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Experience a stay in Milan<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>In 2026, MIDO will take place just a few days before the opening of the Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina, in a city that is in full bloom.
