GMAC offers opticians a free myopia education toolkit
The Global Myopia Awareness Coalition (GMAC) offers a free myopia awareness toolkit to help optometrists have more effective and informative conversations about myopia in children and its treatment.

The GMAC Myopia Awareness Toolkit was originally launched during Myopia Awareness Week 2025 and now includes ten key resources - with more to come. The new toolkit offers practical, ready-to-use materials to educate families and support counseling sessions, all available for free at myopiaawareness.org/toolkit can be downloaded.

In addition to this toolkit, the GMAC publishes videos on social media introducing the members of the Board and Advisory Council and showcasing the global reach, diversity and expertise of the initiative. In these videos, they describe why they joined GMAC and the role they believe GMAC can play in promoting myopia awareness worldwide.
GMAC is currently running a pilot project to increase the visibility and local use of the materials, providing co-branded versions to selected member associations. GMAC plans to replicate this approach globally to raise awareness of myopia in all countries and in many languages.
