Stormline Pro – Designed for those moments on the mountain

Whether it’s rugged ridges, glistening firn, or changing light conditions on the mountain—when two of the world’s most renowned alpinists meet on the granite walls of Chamonix, their gear must perform without compromise. Fabian Buhl (GER) and Colin Haley (USA) tested the new Stormline Pro from evil eye right where it belongs: in extreme terrain.

„No Distractions on the Wall“ – Fabian Buhl on Protection and Seating

For Fabian Buhl, the most important thing on the mountain is focusing on the next step. „Whether on the approach or on rugged rock—sports glasses that slip are a safety hazard,“ explains the professional mountaineer. To ensure that doesn’t happen, a special traction grip texture on the temple tips of the Stormline Pro, along with the dual-adjustable nose pads, provide a perfect fit in every situation. „Even when wet, they stay absolutely secure without any pressure,“ Buhl enthuses.

The new side guard really proved its worth, especially in the glare of the firn. This side protection shields the eyes from intense sunlight and biting wind. „You can see more clearly and aren’t distracted by stray light coming from the side,“ says Buhl.

„Maximum Speed Without Fogging“ – Colin Haley on Performance

Colin Haley is known for his fast ascents—and ventilation is the key factor here. „On steep, grueling sections, goggles often fog up just when you need a clear view,“ says Haley. With the Stormline Pro, the new sweat bar with an integrated ventilation system provides a solution. Special channels direct air behind the filters, while the removable foam reliably keeps sweat away from the eyes.

Uncompromising visibility: LST Vario

In the Alps, the light can change in a matter of minutes. That’s why these two athletes rely on LST Vario lenses. These photochromic lenses adjust automatically—from bright sunshine to sudden cloud cover. Light Stabilizing Technology enhances contrast and compensates for extreme fluctuations in light.

Optimal vision with custom prescription

Even with prescription lenses, the Stormline Pro delivers full performance—evil eye offers various lens options for this: With direct lens mounting, the corrective lenses are custom-made and integrated directly into the frame. This ensures a particularly wide, unobstructed field of view—precise, lightweight, and tailored exactly to your specific needs. The clip-in option is available as a flexible alternative. With this method, the prescription lenses are inserted into a clip and secured behind the filters. This allows the filters to be quickly changed depending on light and weather conditions.

Maximum customization thanks to additional, functional add-ons

With the right add-ons, the Stormline Pro can be specifically adapted to a wide variety of conditions in alpine terrain. The facemask provides reliable protection when wind, cold, and UV radiation intensify. It attaches directly to the temples and nose bridge and effectively covers the face—ideal for high-alpine tours and extreme conditions. The headband provides additional stability: It replaces the temples and attaches directly to the frame. The adjustable strap sits securely, even under a helmet or hat, and offers a customizable fit thanks to tri.fit technology. These and other add-ons are not included with the product but are available at any time via evileye.com or at optical retailers.

The Stormline Pro is available in six frame colors and two sizes and will be available starting in August 2026 at partner opticians, sporting goods stores, and on evileye.com.
